To say that we do not learn from history, would be to say that each day the sun does not rise, nor set. The truth is that we care not for the experiences of the past, we care only for our own experiences, and our own destiny.
It is hope that makes us try, and it is hope that makes us fail. We try to change the present and affect the future, as there are always outcomes that we would prefer in any given situation. It our hope for a preferable outcome that strips our minds of all of the lessons that we have learned from the past. So, has there been a time when we have had such information gathering and collaboration as now? If so are there lessons that we should be learning? If we really are on the verge of an informational revolution, then would it not be best to take a look behind us and ponder this before we go ahead?
Only one thing is for certain: our generation will learn either way, even if those after us don't...
